Many people live for years in the same street but have little or no contact with the majority of their neighbours. The situation within the business community is no different.
SafetyNet Radio aims to allow people and businesses to communicate more closely with each other. The system allows a member to immediately pass information to neighbouring businesses and to be able to call upon assistance in times of need.
All the radios have an emergency panic button which when depressed activates an alert tone on all the other radios in the scheme, to the council CCTV control rooms, the local police on duty and identifies the business requiring help.
The CCTV contol also has a local borough police radio and can speak directly to the main police contol if a local scheme member calls for help. The local police have agreed to treat verified activations as emergency calls for immediate response.
This provides peace of mind for staff and especially for lone workers. There is training available for staff of those stores who rent sets from the scheme.
